Alliance Credit Union was founded in 1984 and Voyager Credit Union was founded in 1992. The two Credit Unions merged in September 2006 to become Voyager Alliance Credit Union.
In 2008 Wayfarer Credit Union based at Manchester Airport also merged with Voyager Alliance to form the Credit Union we have today.
The head office is located in Manchester, we also have an office in Manchester Airport. Additionally we have 135 volunteer representatives at work places throughout the country.
Voyager Alliance has grown steadily over the years and is now one of the UK’s largest credit unions offering a wide range of financial products.
In 2016 a report from Co-operatives UK recognised the significant role the credit union movement has played in the growth of the wider co-operative sector. British credit union membership has doubled over the last decade to more than 1.2 million, while the sector’s assets have trebled to more than £1.3 billion.
Voyager Alliance Credit Union aims to provide financial services that meet the needs and expectations of our members, with integrity, and in a caring and professional manner to improve the financial well-being of our members.
It was fantastic to meet with Voyager Alliance Credit Union and hear about their great success story. This is clearly a credit union that is close to its members and provides a welcome service close to their place of work.
